Yes, our meals are carefully packed in coolers. We take no chances when it comes to keeping your food safe. Make sure to pop them in the freezer as soon as you receive your order.

Yes, you can absolutely have your order sent to a different address if you are moving or travelling, as long as it is within the delivery radius. To change your address permanently simply log in to My Account, click on ‘view address’ and edit. To temporarily change your address simply edit your delivery address at checkout and don't forget to switch it back when you return!

Yes, but only if you have freezer facilities at your place of work.

We are in the process of building out our +7 months textured, snack and toddler food ranges so watch this space. In the meantime ohbaby baby blends are an excellent snack for older babies and toddlers.  As babies progress onto finger foods and more textured food (yay! for new milestones), it can be difficult to monitor how many nutrients they are getting in. You may find this article on how to transition babies onto the next stage interesting (read) or why not try one of the following simple tricks? Please note: Always consult with a medical professional before feeding baby finger foods

1. Mix our fruit blends with porridge or yogurt

2. Make a smoothie with them by adding fresh fruit, ice  and your choice of milk (recipe's here)

3. Smooth savoury blends over whole-wheat toast and cut into the appropriate sized slices

4. Mix savoury blends with egg to make an omelette or frittata (recipe's here)

5. Toss savoury blends with freshly cut and soft steamed pieces of veg or mix into healthy grains like brown rice or quinoa

ohbaby is currently only available for collection in Cape Town, PE & Durban. ohbaby is not available in retail stores but keep your eyes peeled for updates. 

We love this question. Your baby is not going to like everything at first, and that is OK. As they try new foods and flavours they are going to make funny faces, gestures & even gage. It’s their way of saying “whoa, this is new.” Sometimes it can take up to 20 tries before they accept a new flavour, and because their appetites fluctuate, it can be difficult to assertain whether they are rejecting a flavour because they don’t like it or whether they are just not hungry enough. Our advice is to always try new flavours in the morning when baby is feeling rested, energised and hungry. Be patient and remember you’re doing an amazing job.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends introducing baby food no sooner than 6 months however most babies start between 4-6 months old. Your baby will tell you when he/she is ready by displaying the following signs:

• Can keep their neck up and sit up without support. 
  
• No longer has the tongue-thrust reflex (this is when they push foods out with their tongues). Fun fact: the mouth and tongue develop in sync with the digestive system, so once their tongues are ready, their tummies are, too.
  
• Is expressing interest in solids by turning towards the spoon and grabbing food with their hands.

It has been scientifically proven that early introduction of allergens actually reduces the risk of developing allergies. That’s why we have included foods like nut butter & sesame seeds on our menu. 

If your child has known allergies please make sure to review the labels carefully before feeding. Our products are also produced in a facility with tree nuts, seeds, soya, dairy & gluten and may contain traces of them. If you have allergies and are concerned your child may have them too, please consult with a medical professional & have your child tested before feeding them any of our menu items with specified allergens in. 

All our meals are freshly frozen for your convenience. Make sure to pop them in your freezer as soon as they are delivered. Defrost overnight in the fridge for the best results. Meals will last up to three months in the deep freeze & 24 hours once defrosted.

All our meals come fully prepared and frozen for your convenience. Keep frozen until ready to use. Defrost in the fridge before use. To heat; immerse sleeve in hot water or remove from sleeve, stir and heat to feeding temperature in the microwave. Always check temperature of food before feeding.

Meals will last up to three months in the deep freeze. Once defrosted eat within 24 hours.

We're FSSC 22000 Certified

FSSC 22000 is fully recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). It demonstrates that we have one of the most robust Food Safety Management Systems available in the world. 

Additional lockdown measures in place:

1. Temperature scans have been implemented at the facility and staff with a temperature over 37 degrees Celsius are being sent home. 

2. Everyone at the facility is always dressed head to toe in commercial grade lab jackets, hair nets & gloves to ensure a safe and sanitary environment. 

3. An alarm bell rings every 30 minutes indicating that staff members are required to wash their hands.

4. Our ohbaby delivery team have been supplied with hand sanitiser and gloves which they will use when delivering your orders. Please feel free to request that orders be left at your door by texting our ohbaby helpline on 063 865 8213.

ohbaby ingredients are not organically certified but ethically sourced and free range from local farms that we are proud of. By freezing our meals we ensure all the nutrients & goodness are locked in. Our meals are not heat pasteurised and are free from any additives, preservatives & added sugar/salt. 'Coz, what good are fresh/ organic ingredients if compromised by additives or heat pasteurising methods that kill the nutrients?

Although we use Halaal meat for all our meals, we are not yet producing our meals in the Halaal certified section of our food facility.

Returns: Unfortunately we do not offer refunds on perishable goods. 

Exchanges: We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at heybaby@ohbabyco.com with clear photographs of the damage. If we approve the exchange you will be required to keep the damaged goods until we organise a collection and exchange. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. The collection of the damaged goods and the delivery of the exchanged goods may occur on two separate occasions.
